New Oscillator Circuit
So here’s the breadboarded version of the oscillators that I’ll be using for Cleveland and the festival. This time around I was looking for something more stable than the radios that I’d used the previous year. Mostly, the stability issue and concern that I had relates to pots shorting out or silencing the circuit based on the position of other pots. It led to some audience members and synth users thinking that they’d broken something. I want there to be a level of, you do this, you get this, rather than what often happened, which was me saying, “You have to be patient. Try a few other knobs, twist some other things”. That said, I still wanted there to be an element of gesture and play involved so I started considering using contact pads t0 create points in the circuit that allow for gesture and pitch/effects bend. This circuit features all of this and will be the basis for the sound source of the synthesizer that I will be showing this year.
